The team at Altum, together, have over 40 years of experience working in the senior housing investment and management industry. Our Team

Our leadership team has decades of collective experience in the senior living and senior care industry. Most importantly, they share a passion for seniors and a genuine desire to create communities that empower them to live a full, meaningful, and fun life.

Jennifer Jones, Vice President of Accounting

Jennifer is a commercial real estate accountant with decades of experience in senior housing and capital markets. Most recently, Jennifer managed the accounting practices for a portfolio of 60 senior housing communities and was an integral part of daily operations including, systems management and human resources. Additionally, she served as lead transitions and systems coordinator for more than $150 million in senior housing acquisitions providing pre- and post-acquisition stabilization support. With her vast experience, Jennifer is establishing financial best practices and analytical tools across the Altum portfolio that provide operational insights used to promote performance success.

John Murphey

John Murphey, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer

John has been in the Senior Care Industry for over 25 years, ranging from home care and skilled nursing to independent living, assisted living and memory care. With experience in every aspect of sales and marketing in senior living, he has worked in 14 states with a consistent record of coaching his teams to success and driving occupancy through collaborative teamwork while embracing a servant leadership approach. John has worked with both national and regional providers where his innovative and non-traditional sales and marketing methods were routinely emulated as industry best-practices. He holds master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA in Management and Marketing), Strategic Intelligence and Strategic Studies, and also serves as a Colonel in the US Army Reserve.

Asuka Smith

Asuka Smith, Elevate 360 Specialist

“There is nothing in the world that gives me the feeling of gratification like engaging with my residents. Creating meaningful, person-centered individualized programming is what I was meant to do!” Asuka’s journey with senior care began as a companion providing one-on-one life enrichment activities to her friend’s mother, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 8 years prior. That is when she had realized that building an active and stimulating person-centered engagement serves as an essential part not only for those coping with Alzheimer’s and dementia, but all seniors. Asuka now serves as the Elevate 360 Specialist, part of Altum’s exceptional life enrichment wellness program. She holds a Certification of Dementia Practitioner from NCCDP and currently works in one of our Memory Support communities.

Ana Verduzco, Business Operations Specialist

Ana has worked in the Business Office at Crescendo since 2014. During her tenure with Crescendo and Altum, Ana stands out as a leader amongst her peers, excelling in absolutely every metric for which she is responsible. Ana has over a decade of financial experience, and prior to joining the senior living industry she worked in banking with Citi Group in Florida before relocating to sunny Southern California. Ana has a can-do attitude, does not hesitate to problem solve when she encounters challenges, and has her RCFE credentials.
